Polaris Media has won the Global Performance Award at this year’s Mersey Maritime Industry Awards held before an audience of more than 600 guests at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.
Polaris won the award after being shortlisted by a judging panel and a public vote. The award follows Polaris growing exports from a third to a half of turnover in the last year winning work in America, China, India, Lithuania, Turkey and Sweden. Guests from China Classification Society, the Isle of Man Ship Registry, Lloyds Register and Idwal joined the Polaris table on the evening.
Polaris managing director Ben Pinnington said:
“On behalf of our team I’d like to thank the judges and everyone who voted for us. It is wonderful for our talented and dedicated team and suppliers to receive this recognition. I’d further like to sincerely thank our clients for investing in us as without them there would be no business – we exist to add value and make a positive difference to them. I am determined to use this award to redouble our efforts and innovate our services for our clients worldwide.
“I further hope we can use our resources to continue to champion seafarers – the true and too often forgotten heroes of our industry – through our work with Liverpool Seafarers Centre, which won the diversity award on the night.”
“Mersey Maritime deserves great credit for all the work it does promoting the sector including the spectacular awards ceremony, which is now a fixture of the UK’s maritime sector calendar.”
