MANUFACTURING PR NEWS FROM POLARIS
Birkenhead based contractor MPE Interiors has just completed a contract to transform an empty former Chinese restaurant in Prenton into one of Wirral’s newest and most attractive Thai Restaurants. (Click here for pictures of restaurant)
Thai Thai is now open for business and is a new venture run by its owner and manager, ‘Ja’. It is based at 385 Woodchurch Road, opposite Sainsbury’s and it has created seven new jobs.
MPE Interiors director Cliff Grainger said the MPE team has thoroughly enjoyed working on the project.
“Ja wanted a complete overhaul of the premises” he said. “It was formerly a Chinese restaurant and a lot of work was needed to bring it to the standard and style that Ja wanted. So we worked hard at the design stage to produce a bright, original, contemporary and comfortable interior. We produced 3D drawings for Ja so she could see exactly how her ideas would look and work in reality. From this concept we were able to ‘brainstorm’ ideas and accurately plan throughout the process how the restaurant would look. This included forming a design that other contractors could work to, installing a new floor, renovated kitchen and new rest rooms.”
Cliff Grainger said MPE stripped out the old interior before designing, manufacturing and installing a new bar and bar ceiling, display cabinet, front door and screen, bench seating and a cloak room area. MPE also supplied all the restaurant dining chairs.
“Building the new bar was one of the biggest jobs and one of the most satisfying, we specialise in designing and manufacturing bars and it really looks great as one of the centre pieces of the room,” he said. “Comfort was a big factor in the design process – Ja wants her customers to feel relaxed, with plenty of space around them, not to be ‘crammed in’. We were also very aware that the overall design had to be modern, sharp and bright to complement the feel of a new, ambitious restaurant.”
Ja said MPE had given good advice through-out the project, were always available and remained flexible to developing and amending ideas.
“The premises have been transformed, which is exactly what was required,” she said. “We went to MPE with ideas and they have helped to deliver the restaurant we wanted and dreamed of. There are not many Thai restaurants in the area and we believe we have a very strong offering. The catering staff are all Thai and very experienced as are the ‘front of house staff’. We have an exciting new menu with classic Thai food blended with original dishes not available anywhere else in the area. But the critical factor first and foremost was to get the interior and feel of the restaurant right – MPE have done an excellent job in delivering just that.”
