Oasis Academy Oldham, which recently celebrated record breaking GCSE results, is inviting prospective students and parents to its £30million campus for a special open evening.
Students at the Academy achieved the most improved GCSE results in the Oldham and Manchester area in August. The school is now set to open to the public on Tuesday, October 1, between 6pm and 8pm.
Oasis Academy Oldham Principal David Hayes said there has been sharp increases in achievement and performance in the last 12 months. They are now focussed on driving continued success and are welcoming parents of current Year 5 and Year 6 students in the Manchester area to see what the Academy has to offer.
“We have started the new academic year with real momentum after achieving the best GCSE results in the school’s history,” he said. “The Academy witness a significant shift in grades with a total of 85pc of pupils achieving five or more A* to C grades at GCSE level. This was an 18pc improvement on 2012 figures. Our upcoming open evening will provide a perfect opportunity for prospective students and parents to find out more about the Academy’s story and successes. It will also provide us with the chance to communicate our vision and aims for driving educational standards. Oasis Academy Oldham has a strong ethos built on values, achievement and aspiration. The multi-million pound Academy is purpose-built for twenty-first century education with outstanding ICT facilities and resources for the whole community including fitness suite, 3G sports pitch and multi-use games area.
Oasis Academy assistant principal Carl Heatley is leading plans for the open evening.
He said: “Visitors will be able to enjoy a tour of the campus as well as sit down and speak to Academy staff for personal face-to-face discussions. This is a terrific opportunity for prospective students and parents to get a real feel of the atmosphere of our site. We are also offering a number of added incentives for our new starters including free breakfasts for a year and free uniform for Year 7 students.
