North West accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth has promoted a key member of its team to partner.
Paul Durrance, who specialises in supporting the healthcare profession, alongside managing a varied commercial portfolio, as well as offering advice to new business start ups in developing effective growth strategies, has been promoted to partner.
Mitchell Charlesworth has offices in Liverpool, Manchester, Warrington, Widnes and Chester. The firm is a member of Kreston International, a global network of independent accountancy firms, which Mr Durrance is an active participant.
“I am delighted to have been appointed a partner at Mitchell Charlesworth which has been a terrific place to develop my career” he said. “It is a forward thinking, progressive practice with a stimulating environment focussed on delivering excellence. I will now be redoubling my efforts, with specific interest in both the healthcare and business start up fields, to drive greater impact for our clients across the region.
“The scope of change facing the health sector is substantial as the government continues to address issues across the NHS,” said Mr Durrance. “This makes access to expert financial advice more vital to the sector than ever before. I will be drawing upon my broad experience to help promote growth across our specialist healthcare department which delivers accountancy, business planning, and taxation services to the sector.”
Mr Durrance, who has been at the firm for more than 20 years, was appointed associate at Mitchell Charlesworth in 2006.
He has previously been involved in the Young Enterprise Scheme helping students to set up and run their own businesses, and now acts as a mentor on both the Spark Up programme being delivered by the Liverpool & Sefton Chamber of Commerce, and for Liverpool John Moores’ Centre for Entrepreneurship.
Paul has previously been shortlisted for Insider North West Accountant of the Year.
Mitchell Charlesworth managing partner Paul Wainwright said: “Paul has made a significant impact at Mitchell Charlesworth and has shown great commitment to the firm. He has an impressive and extensive background in dealing with all aspects of the healthcare sector as well as his extensive commercial portfolio. It is important that we reward and strengthen the position of key members of the team so we can continue to deliver the best advice and support possible to a greater number of clients.”
