Liverpool marine safety specialist International Safety Products (ISP) is commending the support of Seawork, after returning to the event following a surge in overseas sales.
The Bootle firm, which is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of marine inflatable lifejackets, is exhibiting once again at the Southampton show, running from June 10 to 12.
ISP sales director Geoff Billington said the international forum provides a terrific platform to promote the firm’s broad portfolio of products – which include liferafts, personal locator beacons, intrepid immersion suits and hydrostatic release units.
Mr Billington said ISP has witnessed an overseas sales surge in the last year, driving turnover up 10pc, to £7.6m. Staff numbers have also risen sharply by more than 15pc, up from 98 employees to 115 in the same period.
This growth has been boosted by international deals in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Pakistan and across Europe, with exports now accounting for more than 65pc of ISP’s total sales.
During the last year the firm also secured its largest ever single lifejacket order to supply 6,500 twin chamber jackets to the Polish Army, in a contract worth in excess of £1.2m.
“We exhibit at a number of international trade shows, and Seawork remains one of the best to promote our products, and communicate who we are and what we do, to a commercial maritime audience,” said Mr Billington.
“Last year we used Seawork as the platform to launch new additions to our product range, including Hansen Protection Sea Wind suits and a range of Alcares LED marine safety lights. It has proved a fruitful exercise and we have since witnessed a positive response in the market for both product lines.
“Our portfolio continues to expand through exclusive distribution partnerships, many of which have seen us appointed as the sole UK distributor. ISP’s broader product range includes Duarry liferafts, Ocean Signal communication devices and Seamate hydrostatic release units.
