Polaris Media has nominated two Merseyside charities to support for the next year.
The firm will be supporting maritime charity, Liverpool Seafarers Centre, and the Missionaries of Charity, in Liverpool, which supports the region’s homeless.
Liverpool Seafarers Centre, located in the Mersey docklands, operates a front line service providing practical and emotional support for seafarers. The Missionaries of Charity, on Seel Street in Liverpool City Centre, is run by Mother Teresa’s nuns and provides food and shelter for up to 100 homeless people every day.
Polaris director Ben Pinnington said: “As maritime PR specialists, the Liverpool Seafarers Centre is closely linked to our line of work.
“Our seafarers play a crucial role shipping up to 95pc of UK trade. It is a hugely demanding and challenging sector. We are delighted to be supporting the Liverpool branch and the first class work it provides offering advice, practical help, care and friendship and financial aid.
“The Missionaries of Charity Liverpool delivers a very worthwhile service supporting the homeless. It has had a presence in the city for many years and is backed by a loyal team of volunteers.
“We are looking forward to supporting these charities with a number of fundraising challenges throughout the next year. Any support we receive from our contacts, clients and friends along the way is hugely appreciated.”
