Wirral based Whitfield Business Support is reporting a rise in new business after attracting more than 20 new clients in the last quarter.

The Heswall firm – led by directors Nik Ellis and Justine McLaughlin – provides office space and a ‘business incubator’ service. Key new client wins range from start-ups to larger SMEs including Rubens coffee shop chain, Whitmore & White fine wine and foodhall, National Car Auctions, The Runners Hub and ELO Wellbeing.

Ms McLaughlin said Whitfield offers a complete business support package covering accounting and funding to IT, recruitment, consultancy, mentoring, marketing, web, graphic design and branding support.

She believes the firm which started trading in April 2015 is witnessing strong demand due to the fact it is one of very few organisations in the Wirral providing this specific range of services.

“We have experienced consistent growth since setting up last year,” said Ms McLaughlin. “However, this last quarter has been our best to date by far. We have now worked with more than 60 clients, more than 20 of which have been secured in the last three months. We have also submitted 11 proposals for further contracts. What is highly encouraging is the range of businesses we are attracting. We are helping firms of all sizes across sectors. We believe a large part of this is down to the broad range of support services we provide. We are also witnessing a surge in business from existing clients who initially came to us for support with logo’s and branding and now due to growth need new websites and social media management.

“Additional new clients include Vittoria Motor Services, Zero Four hairdressing, Vanilla Lounge Wine Bar and Andre’s Restaurant and Pizzeria,” said Ms McLaughlin. “The Whitfield Business Support brand is becoming well established. There is much greater awareness of who we are and what we do. In the past people have driven past our premises on Pensby Road in Heswall and seen our big sign but haven’t always been sure of what we do. Now they know we help businesses grow by offering a range of support services, and this reaches far beyond the tenants in our serviced offices. Our doors are open to all businesses from one-man-bands to larger SMEs.”

The Wirral-based SME incubator recently expanded with new offices adjacent to its main office and new staff following a £150,000 cash injection. Ms McLaughlin said the team is set to grow further in the coming weeks.

“We want to hear from business owners or managers who are looking to free up time so they can concentrate on delivering their core service,” said Ms McLaughlin. “All too often we hear from people who would like more time to focus on their own business. Naturally, a great amount of effort needs to be devoted to client delivery. But there are many additional tasks which come with running a business which also require time, patience and specialist knowledge.

“We understand this challenge inside out. Our team includes entrepreneurs who have experienced the pitfalls and barriers to growth. We understand what is required to be successful in business and we can help our clients put the necessary building blocks in place and dedicate the right level of care and attention to areas of their business which may be currently neglected.

“Crucially, we help free up time for people to concentrate on what they do best. We have developed a strong rapport with our client base and are seeing strong levels of repeat business because they trust in our cost-effective solutions and high level customer service.”
