Leading UK-based engineering services company Romica Engineering has strengthened its senior team as it looks to increase its presence across a range of industrial sectors and unlock valuable new markets.

Carl Richmond brings a wealth of experience in a diverse range of engineering and manufacturing markets to his new business development role.  His appointment will contribute to Romica’s growth and specifically target non-marine opportunities.

Romica, with its headquarters in Beverley, East Yorkshire, is one of the world’s leading designers, consultants, manufacturers, build to print provider and supplier of lifting, handling, pulling equipment and systems.

Carl, based in East Yorkshire, has a strong reputation, developing engineering opportunity in the lifting, handling, and control equipment sectors; his commitment has been recognised by both the clients and employers.

Carl said: “I see this as a great opportunity using Romica’s high standards and strong track record in maritime to expand further into additional new markets.

“Romica has excellent transferable skills and services, including project management, consultation, product design, manufacture, build to print, testing, inspection, document control and full certification.
“Romica further offers comprehensive global after sales support, the refurbishment and modification of existing equipment and systems as well as full electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic support.

“Product types include, complete lifting and handling systems, A-frames, handling booms, conveyor systems, davit cranes, jacking systems, power transmissions, structural steelwork, winches and hoists.”

Romica has a 7,000m² custom-built manufacturing facility, which includes four overhead cranes with 12.5 tonnes lifting capacity with an 8mtr clearance below the hook, machine tools, CNC, milling, boring, fusion welding equipment, we have independent, indoor, shot blasting and paint booth facilities, which can accommodate pieces up to 12m in length, weighing to 12.5 tonnes.

Carl added: “My role will be to go out and open more doors and build on the continued success, by showcasing our capabilities and the facility to become the ‘trusted partner’ into wider markets. The future looks exciting.”
