Polaris Media has been appointed by international maritime engineering company Intermarine UK to help promote its new fabrication and welding facility at the Port of Portland in Dorset, UK (pictured).
Polish-owned Intermarine has invested a six-figure sum in the new 2400sqm premises creating up to 60 new jobs for local people in the next two years. The move sees Intermarine sign a 20-year lease and move its UK head office from Bridgend to Portland Port, a former naval base and the second largest man-made harbour in the world.
Polaris managing director Ben Pinnington said Polaris will be helping Intermarine with promotion in UK and international maritime press, as well as providing copywriting and social media support. He said the campaign will also seek to raise awareness of Portland Port’s extensive facilities and services for commercial and military vessels as well as its strategic and sheltered location near the busy English channel trade routes.
“We have known Intermarine for a number of years and are aware of their strong entrepreneurial approach which makes them a great dynamic growth hungry business to work with,” he said “There has already been lots of interest in the media in their new operation. We are really looking forward to ramping up awareness of the investment Intermarine is making in the UK economy, creating jobs and bringing expertise to support the UK ship repair industry.”

Ben said Polaris has extensive experience of promoting a broad range of maritime engineering companies for more than 10 years.
“Maritime engineering is our biggest sector and we were pleased to join the British Marine Equipment Committee of the Society of Maritime Industries in London last year offering our expertise of marketing companies in the sector,” he said. “Polaris’ experience includes working with big shipyards like Cammell Laird and Oman Drydock to helping a wide range of small to medium sized firms raise awareness. This includes engine and refrigeration specialists, fit-out firms, electrical and hydraulic contractors as well as global product manufacturers like Roxtec and deck machinery makers like Romica. It is brilliant to add a company of Intermarine’s calibre to our client base at such an exciting time in their UK operations.”
The client win marks a busy start to the year for Polaris. The company also starts new campaigns with the Battle of the Atlantic Memorial, Blue Atlantic industrial park in Portugal and Liverpool Seafarers Centre.
