Polaris has provided a range of public relations support to client Cammell Laird for the ‘float-off’ of a new ferry the company has built for Isle of Wight ferry operator Red Funnel.

Polaris provided press call management, press release writing, social media, film, photography and drone services.

Polaris managing director Ben Pinnington said Polaris has built up a wide range of experience of managing press calls in the UK and overseas including in Spain and Oman.

“This was a brilliant job to work on and showed a full range of our services,” he said. “We have organised many press calls at Cammell Laird over 11 years and have expanded our offering over time to include film, drone and social media which are key elements to any major press event.”

The event was attended by the Liverpool Echo, BBC Radio Merseyside and the Wirral Globe. Polaris’ film crew supplied footage to ITV and BBC One news bulletins. Polaris further helped promote the event to the international maritime trade media in partnership with Red Funnel’s media team.
