Polaris works with SMI & UK Government to promote UK pavilion at Marintec China

This week Polaris is working with the Department of International Trade and the Society of Maritime Industries to promote the UK Pavilion at Marintec China – the biggest shipbuilding trade fair in China. The event takes place in Shanghai between December 3 and 6. A package of support is on offer for UK companies exhibiting or attending the show. This includes the UK Pavilion where DIT China staff and the SMI’s Shanghai representative will broker introductions to Chinese decision-makers, a UK-themed gala evening reception attended by key members of China’s maritime industry and a pre-show dinner featuring a market briefing with prominent Chinese stakeholders.
DIT marine sector manager John Strang said: “ We want to help as many businesses as possible, either exhibiting or attending. China is the biggest maritime nation on earth and it presents a glittering opportunity for British maritime companies.”
Tom Chant SMI business development director, pictured, said China is home to 133 shipyards with 1,483 ships on their order books.
