Polaris is in Shanghai this week helping promote British business and the U.K. pavilion at Marintec, China’s biggest maritime trade fair. We heard yesterday that China as well as being the world’s biggest maritime nation now commands around 40pc of global shipbuilding. This presents a massive export opportunity for British companies but competition is fierce. The UK’s Department for International Trade has a talented marine sector team can provide a range of support to help U.K. firms with market access. Our trade body Society of Maritime Industries the voice of maritime engineering can also offer support and guidance drawing on many years experience of leading the U.K. presence at trade fairs in, and delegations to, China.
