Polaris is proud to have supported the fourth event of the year for Chicago Propeller Club, a cruise with club sponsor the tour boat operator Wendella.
Polaris senior consultant Charlie Miller and founder Ben Pinnington attended the event with Polaris providing pro bono event organisation and promotion as part of its commitment to supporting the club and the Great Lakes maritime industry.
Ben, who is also VP of the Chicago Propeller Club and Great Lakes Regional VP for the International Propeller Club said: “It is vital to us at Polaris to support the maritime industry owing our livelihood to the sector for the last 17 years. We want to see it grow and the propeller club is fantastic way to promote the industry. It brings all the maritime industry together each quarter to raise awareness and share opportunities. Promoting maritime careers is key and it was especially good to welcome Chicago Hope Academy a school working with low income families. The Principal was not aware of the opportunities in the maritime industry and he can now direction engineering pupils towards the maritime sector. This is exactly what the club is there for. Practical engagement joining the dots and building a bridge into the community so schools understand all the job opportunities in the maritime sector. “
