Chester and North Wales’ leading independent transport firm Delivery Solutions (Delsol) is looking to turbo charge growth after announcing another major investment in its business last night revealing 17 new vehicles.
Caernarfon and Deeside based Delsol is run by directors Simon Walker and Tony Parry and specialises in pallet and parcel delivery. The firm said the £278,000 investment is being made to cater to increased demand. The investment sees Delsol boost its fleet with 15 new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans and two Volvo trucks. It now has a fleet of 56 vehicles including sprinter vans, HGVs and bikes. The firm has also grown staff numbers to 85 – its highest ever level.
The fleet expansion comes soon after Delsol was named in Wales Fast Growth 50 for the second year running – one of only six North Wales firms to make the list.
Delsol director Tony Parry said with greater fleet capacity the firm is looking to build on its best ever year of trading in 2011 when turnover exceeded £5m for the first time since the firm was established in 1999.

Mr Parry said Delsol will be using the vehicles to target the business sector and also the domestic market.
“We want to work with more businesses and more public sector bodies like hospitals and councils,” he said. “The food industry has been strong for us as has the IT and engineering sectors. We are also looking to work with more online retailers and domestic customers wanting collections and deliveries where we can beat the Royal Mail on price on any package over two kilos. Our typical client will spent £1000 a week with us, some a lot more. But we also have clients who spend £100 a week. Our ethos is to find the right delivery solution to meet your needs. We operate a sameday, overnight or economy service to deliver anywhere in the UK and overseas.”
Delsol is the official courier for APC Overnight the UK’s largest independent next day delivery network. Delsol operates the entire LL postcode area and the CH1 to CH8 postcodes for APC.
