Chester based contractor RSS Construction Projects (RSS) is reporting a ‘robust year of trading’ after it undertook 32 contracts across the North West region.
RSS, led by managing director Grant Roxburgh, specialises in the repair and rehabilitation of all types of built assets. He said the company’s work is being driven primarily by tender wins and from repeat business from existing clients.
“It has been a strong year of trading and we are seeing steady business from core sectors including local authorities in the North West and North Wales, the petrochemical and engineering sectors, as well as schools, museums and commercial offices,” he said. “In this climate clients with large property portfolios are keen to keep a close eye on the upkeep of assets. That way they can maximise the life of a building or structure and catch problems early preventing expensive and disruptive repairs. One of our biggest contracts sees RSS carry out structural inspections on more than 170 buildings and structures as part of the built asset inspection regime. This includes monitoring, protecting and maintaining a range of assets constructed from concrete, steel and brickwork.”
Mr Roxburgh said another reason for RSS’s consistent performance is the need for companies to ensure they are meeting the highest standards of health and safety.
“On high risk chemical processing facilities, we work closely with clients and provide a highly specialised built asset inspection service that helps them to ensure compliance with stringent safety standards such as the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations,” he said. “More widely, the built environment is heavily regulated and there are many health and safety standards to meet. This is precisely where our highly experienced and well qualified team can help.”
Mr Roxburgh said RSS is also performing above the national average for positive customer feedback as benchmarked by Constructing Excellence, the sector’s recognised performance monitoring body.
“We are very proud to report that every scheme we have undertaken in the last 12 months has received a customer satisfaction score of eight out of ten or more from clients, this comfortably exceeds the national average”, he said. “We work extremely hard to ensure the clients receive the best standards of service and follow closely the benchmarks and KPIs set by Constructing Excellence (see notes to editors).”
RSS provides a core service that includes built asset Inspections and Maintenance, utilising both traditional trades and specialist techniques such as: Resin Injection, Leak Sealing, Structural Repairs, Corrosion Control Systems, Composite Strengthening (Carbon Fibre), Sprayed Concrete, Grouting, Protective Coatings, Anti-slip Surfaces, Joint Sealing, Mini Driven Piles, Masonry Stitching, Remedial Wall Ties, Specialist Floor Coatings.
