North West manufacturer ANH Refractories Europe has secured a deal to supply products to one of the largest cement plants in Austria.
The American owned firm manufactures materials at its Bromborough plant used in linings for furnaces, kilns and incinerators operating at high temperatures.
It has secured a deal with cement giant Lafarge deliveringrefractory bricks forits cement plantbased in Retznei, southern Austria.
ANH Refractories Europe managing director Peter Rooney said the deal highlighted the firm’s track record in the cement industry.“We are delighted to have secured work with another of the best known names in the cement sector. We have supplied the Lafarge cement plant with our specially manufactured Magnel Ultra refractory bricks for usewithin the cement kiln. They have been placed in the centre of a burning zone which is prone to high chemical attack combined with mechanical stress. It is therefore crucial these bricks are of the highest standard to perform robustly in such an aggressive environment. As with all the refractory solutions we deliver our chief aim is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall manufacturing process.”
Mr Rooney said the cement sector is a key target for driving sales growth in 2012.

Mr Rooney said the petrochemical, steel and industrial metals markets are other key sectors in ANH’s growth strategy. Lafarge’s Retznei site, situated in the Leibnitz district, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2010.
