BEN PINNINGTON is an award winning author and trained newspaper journalist. A married father of two based in Lake Forest, Chicago, he has more than 25 years experience in the media including more than 15 years in maritime and engineering PR. He set up Polaris in his home town of Liverpool UK initially working with shipbuilding businesses in the Merseyside maritime cluster before starting exporting in 2014.

He has since grown the company into an award winning international maritime and engineering specialist consultancy seeing the company voted Professional Services Business of the Year and International Business of the Year at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards in 2020 and 2022 respectively.

Ben has advised more than 70 businesses including in Britain, America, India, China and Oman. He expanded Polaris from the UK to Chicago in 2022. Since arriving in America he has spearheaded the revival of the Chicago Propeller Club attracting many of the leading organizations and businesses on the Great Lakes.

In 2021 he published the Amazon best selling book “Making Waves: PR strategies to transform your maritime business” with Rethink Press. He has a BA degree in Politics from Leicester University and post graduate NCTJ journalism qualification from Cornwall College. Before setting up in business Ben worked as reporter and then in political campaigning PR for the Forum of Private Business, Scottish Parliament and Conservative Party.
