Merseyside PR firm Polaris Media is reporting turnover growth of a third and two new client wins.

Polaris, which is run by journalist brothers Sam and Ben Pinnington, has just completed its second year of trading and has seen turnover rise to £250,000. The last month has also seen the company appointed by £2m turnover Birkenhead based manufacturer and outfitter MPE Interiors. Meanwhile, Bootle based FE college Hugh Baird College, which has 7000 learners, joins Polaris’ growing education division.

“We are delighted to see the business grow, based on our strategy of offering a quality service at a good price,” said Ben Pinnington. “We would like to thank our clients for their continued support and it is especially pleasing to see maritime grow into our biggest single sector. We see plenty of room for further expansion in the next year. Our plan is to target four core areas for growth in 2013/14: maritime, engineering, manufacturing and exports.

“The last six months has seen us develop an extensive pipeline of leads across these industries regionally, nationally and internationally. We know our experience and specialist knowledge combined with a strong suite of services is a compelling offering to ambitious businesses. There is still a big demand for PR, marketing literature, websites and social media. We are already working with a number of exporters helping them raise their profile in the Middle East, America, Europe, North Africa and Australia. We are also keen to export ourselves and work with foreign businesses, for whom English is not their first language, but who require help marketing themselves in English.”

Sam Pinnington said Polaris is pleased to see new clients joining it for long term campaigns.

“We are building a new set of online marketing for MPE Interiors, which works across the maritime and construction sectors, including a new website and social media platforms including Facebook, Flickr and Twitter,” he said. “With a visual manufacturer like MPE it is vital they harness the power of image driven social media. These platforms can really showcase the standard of outfitting it undertakes and it improves SEO. Equally news campaigns will be a key service so they can raise their profile in regional and trade media read by their target audiences.”

Sam said Hugh Baird College wanted to use Polaris to increase awareness of its courses, facilities and impressive OFSTED ratings on Merseyside.

“Hugh Baird has so much good news and so much investment happening and we have seen strong media interest in its stories,” he said. “Polaris already works with the Maritime & Engineering College North West and Kirkby Sports College on Merseyside and we will be working hard to generate news which tells Hugh Baird’s story powerfully and encourages learner numbers and business partnerships.”

Polaris operates from bases in Liverpool, Manchester and Ellesmere Port. Its clients include the CBI and Cammell Laird.
