Maritime and engineering PR firm Polaris and our clients celebrated a successful night at the 2013 Wirral Business Awards, of which Polaris was an award sponsor.
More than 450 leading figures in the region’s business world gathered for the awards ceremony on September 13 at Birkenhead School. The prestigious event was hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Roger Phillips to recognise and reward the Wirral’s best businesses and leading entrepreneurs.
Awards were handed out in a total of 14 categories. Polaris entered applications for four clients all of which were shortlisted on the night. They included world leading shipyard Cammell Laird, crowned Business of the Year (50+ employees), and Birkenhead-based SeaKing Electrical which secured the Maritime Award.
A third client John Laidlaw, managing director of globally renowned composite hose manufacturer Dantec, further scooped Business Person of the Year award. Meanwhile fast growing and influential trade body Mersey Maritime was also shortlisted for the Maritime Award.
Polaris director Ben Pinnington, who sponsored and presented the Business of the Year (1-10 employees) award, said the wins reflected the strength of the firm’s client base.
“It was a terrific night for both our Polaris and our clients,” he said. “This was an excellent opportunity to acknowledge the dedication, commitment and success of some of the finest businesses in our region. We were able to communicate the outstanding work of a number of our own clients through the application process. We are delighted the judges agreed with our entries and identified our nominations as worthy winners. It was an excellent event which helped the Wirral business community to reflect on the firms and individuals which are making a real impact.”
