Liverpool-based engine care specialist Cataclean® Global is accelerating its exports drive by announcing a major African Distributor Agreement in Nigeria.
The Agreement will see a new company – Cataclean® Global Nigeria Ltd. – established. Its Nigerian partners signed the Agreement during a visit to Cataclean Global Ltd. Liverpool headquarters.
Cataclean Global Ltd. produces one of the world’s few patent protected catalytic converter clean products, ‘Cataclean®’. Sold in a 475ml bottle, it is poured into the fuel tank of a petrol, diesel or hybrid car. It has three prime benefits: it can reduce engine emissions by up to 60pc, it can improve performance and it can reduce petrol consumption (see factfile).
Graham Fraser, Corporate Development Director at Cataclean®, said the company is delighted to conclude the new Nigerian arrangement.
“The last year has seen Cataclean® focus its efforts to grow exports sales,” he said.
“The establishment of a Distributor in Nigeria comes hot on the heals of similar Agreements in the United States, Eastern Europe and Greece. It is a very exciting time for the business, which has traditionally focused on the UK market.
“We have worked hard with our Nigerian partners to overcome some administrative hurdles to finalise this exclusive Distributor Agreement. Nigeria is a big market and is currently the fastest growing economy in Africa. In a country of 189m people it has around 31 cars per 1,000 people, and that figure is increasing. With the quality of fuel in Nigeria being fairly low grade, and the number of cars, older than five years being high, we really think there is a need and a demand for Cataclean®.”
Cataclean® Global Nigeria Ltd. Director Adeyemi Oyedele said the new Cataclean® Nigeria team is keen to ‘kick-start’ its sales campaign after strong interest from recent trials.
Mr Oyedele said he was also delighted to have the experience and expertise of Cataclean ® board member John Howard on the Board of Cataclean® Global Nigeria Ltd. Mr Howard will act as the Cataclean ® Global Nigeria Ltd. managing director to drive the brand profile across Africa.
“We are delighted to formally establish Cataclean® Global Nigeria Ltd. as exclusive Distributor following negotiations with Cataclean Global Ltd.,” he said Mr Oyedele added.
“The key selling points for Cataclean®, in Nigeria, will primarily be improving engine performance and cutting fuel bills. Cars are a big expense for families here so if we can help reduce running costs that shall be a major benefit.
“Moreover, in the next few years we expect the ‘cutting emissions’ message to become stronger as greater pressure is put on Nigerian drivers to make their cars greener.
“The main target customers will be consumer level car drivers and repair garages at this stage rather than industrial vehicles. We cannot wait to get started and fulfil the potential for Cataclean® in the market.”
Earlier in January Cataclean® Global announced that UK retail sales had risen from £1.1m in 2012 to £1.7m in 2013.
