  • Exports now account for half of turnover

Maritime and engineering specialist PR firm Polaris Media is reporting a collection of new business wins in the UK, US, China and Europe.

Cheshire based Polaris is welcoming Isle of Man based technology firm Exotechnologies which owns Glasgow boat builder Ultimate Boats, Cleveland Ohio port insurance specialist Armada Risk Partners as well as new orders from Lithuanian ship designer Western Baltic Engineering and Chinese shipbuilder Guangzhou Shipyard International one of the biggest shipyards in the world.

Polaris MD Ben Pinnington said the company is seeing a spike in overseas work with exports growing from a third to a half of turnover in the last year.

“It is brilliant to welcome this new business to Polaris,” he said. “All the new clients are progressive companies who are innovating and want national and international awareness. The clients are helping change the maritime industry for the better and are exactly the kind of businesses we feel passionate about. It is further very rewarding to open our contacts book and make introductions that add real value helping clients win business and create opportunities.”

Ben said exciting new stories from the clients include Ultimate Boats launching the first fully recyclable work and leisure boats made from its patented Danu boat building material which can replace fibre glass. Polaris has further promoted the first electric pusher vessel created by Western Baltic for use in Europe and America’s inland waterways. In addition, Polaris is working with GSI shipyard, which is leading the world in building highly innovative ships, including six new methanol powered tankers for Proman Stena Bulk. Polaris has further helped broker a new partnership between Armada and the North American Maritime Ministry Association (NAMMA) which will see Armada support seafarer welfare provision at ports across the USA.

The new client wins come as Polaris celebrates winning the Global Performance Award at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards in Liverpool in November.

Polaris’ clients include the Isle of Man Ship Registry, China Classification Society, Liverpool Seafarers Centre, Roxtec and Advanced Polymer Coatings. The company was voted Professional Services Business of the Year at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards in 2020 and was a shortlisted finalist in 2021. Polaris delivers a range of PR services including media relations, strategy, crisis management, social media campaigns, creative design and websites and business development.
