Best-selling author John U. Bacon in conversation with the Chicago Propeller Club

Polaris News

We are happy to share details of the Chicago Propeller Club’s first event for 2026.

On April 14 the Club, with Polaris founder Ben Pinnington now as President, will be hosting an audience with John U. Bacon, author of the New York Times bestseller Gales of November: The Untold Story of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

A renowned author of 14 books, John is a wonderful speaker.

This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to learn how he came to write the definitive account of one of the most famous incidents in US maritime history. In recreating the loss of the Mighty Fitz and all 29 souls on board, John has spoken to families, friends, and former crewmates of those lost and carried out more than 100 interviews.

The Club is  also delighted to be joined by Tom Wiater, President of Central Marine Logistics, who will be in conversation with John.

With free food and drink to accompany this evening, it promises to be a truly memorable occasion an opportunity to network.
