Maritime specialist PR firm Polaris Media has been appointed by Oman Drydock Company (ODC) to help raise its profile at the world’s biggest shipping industry trade fair SMM in Hamburg in Germany which starts on September 9.
The media firm run by brothers Ben and Sam Pinnington will be promoting ODC’s latest contract to repair Oman Shipping Company’s LNG tanker the Ibra. Polaris first started working with ODC, in 2014 and earlier this year supported the $1.8bn shipyard at the famous Posidonia shipping fair in Athens.
Polaris director Ben Pinnington said the company is delighted to be helping ODC again at SMM.
“We are helping ODC raise its profile at SMM increasing awareness of its facilities, core selling points and track record,” he said. “The prime service we offer ODC is journalist level English language writing skills for the global martime press which is mainly written in English. The maritime press numbers more than 500 titles and is a terrific platform for maritime businesses to promote themselves. We know this media well through our work over the last seven years with Merseyside and North West marine firms.
“Building a collection of maritime and engineering clients in the Middle East and overseas is a prime objective for Polaris over the next five years.”
ODC is based in Oman’s new mega city of Duqm, on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula, and is run in partnership with DSME. The location is being transformed through a 10 year $15billion masterplan, transforming Duqm into an economic powerhouse with thriving shipping, petrochemical, logistics and offshore industries.
Polaris was founded on Merseyside and has offices in Ellesmere Port, Liverpool and Manchester
