Merseyside PR firm Polaris Media is expanding its education division after being appointed by one of the region’s best known and best equipped centres for learning – Maritime and Engineering College North West (MECNW).
Polaris Media director Ben Pinnington said the firm is delighted to be appointed by MECNW and grow its already strong education division which includes work with Universities, colleges and schools.
“We’re really looking forward to raising MECNW’s profile,” he said. “It is a good fit for us with our background in the maritime and engineering sectors as well as the education sector. MECNW has excellent news stories to promote and it has a key role to play in improving the region’s skills base.”
Birkenhead based MECNW offers more than 20 different apprenticeship programmes for staff of all ages working in engineering and maritime firms across the North West, as well as a wide range of commercial training courses including health and safety and SMTD. Its clients include its neighbour Cammell Laird which has enrolled more than 80 youngsters with MECNW on three to four year apprenticeship courses.
Mersey Maritime Group communications manager Annette Parker said MECNW will be working with Polaris to raise its profile, expand understanding of its courses and critically encourage more employers to use its facilities and courses for staff training.
