Seafarer welfare is a cause our team is passionate about.
We have worked with seafarer charities including the Merchant Navy Welfare Board and run retained campaigns with Liverpool Seafarer Centre. We’ve learned a lot about the sacrifices seafarers make being away from home and loved ones working in one of the most dangerous isolated jobs on earth.
There are more than 1.8million seafarers manning around 70,000 merchant vessels. Mostly drawn from developing countries like the Philippines, India and Ukraine they are the backbone of the industry.
One of the ways we feel Polaris can give back to the maritime industry is by promoting the cause of seafarers.
Objectives Liverpool Seafarers Centre
- Multi year retainer to maintain awareness of the charity which supports 50,000 seafarers each year on ship visits and at its centres.
- Highlight the support given by church communities to the ecumenical charity.
- Encourage donations of clothes, toiletries, puzzles, books and IT equipment.
